The rose trees polyanthas
Polyanthas first appeared at the end of the 19th century. A rose tree grower from Lyon, nomed Guillot, obtained "Pâquerette" by crossing rosa multiflora and hybrid of China. The scentless rose tree with white flowers is still cultivated. Professionals talked a lot about it as it isn't common to turn a huge climbing rose tree into a small 55 cm shrub with hardly any thorns and obtain double flowers from very small singla flowers ! Soon, Guillot created another two varieties, still cultivated today: "Mignonette" and ""Gloire des Polyanthas". Rose tree growers from Orléans then developed these varieties and in Germany, rose tree grower Lambert focused on these species and added to the list "Léonie Lamesch" (*) and "Katarina Zeimet".

(*) listed on some rose tree growers' catalogue but probably due to lack of grafting, we're still waiting to see it ! "The Fairy" is by far the most famous rose tree and its little pink balls bloom in lots of countries.
